Angry Birds Party Invitations

I shared our super fun Angry Birds party at Arizona Mama a while back. Now I’m finally catching up and sharing our invitations. The inside says “Sling shot over to knock down pigs for points to celebrate {name’s} birthday!” The date, time, place and RSVP phone number followed.

I love that my kiddos help with the design. I’ve discovered that when my children design the cards, it’s much simpler and quicker than what I would do. These invitations definitely set the party mood!

We have as much fun working together to plan and prepare for the parties as we do throwing them!

Cupcake Challenge Party Invitation

As I mentioned Friday, I’m working on another Cupcake Challenge party. I must admit that planning this party the second time around is much easier. There are a few changes, like party colors, to keep it unique to the birthday girl.

The invitations are super simple and cute. I was planning on making them by myself, when my daughter asked if she could put them together. Why didn’t I think of that? I’m feeling a little frazzled with our crazy busy May and she took one thing off my plate. And she enjoyed being creative. I usually like that too, but not as much when I’m overwhelmed.

She’s happy, the invitations are delivered – it’s all good!

Friday Favorites: April 13

Last week’s Friday Favorites was short so we would have plenty of time to enjoy the…

  • Desert Botanical Garden. It was nice weather and the flowers were in bloom.  We captured so many great pictures!
  • Easter Saturday.  The Easter Bunny visits our house on Saturday so we can spend Sunday focusing on the spiritual side of Easter.  There was candy and eggs galore, plus our traditional breakfast of donuts while we read a really neat story.
  • Later in the day, we stopped by Hobby Town to watch some RC car racing.
  • Book Party invitations; I’m so happy with how they turned out
  • I finished Court Duel by Sherwood Smith. I liked it better than Crown Duel, the first book in the series. Actually, I couldn’t put it down and spent an hour finishing it this week.  I was a little rushed the rest of the day, but I still got everything done – so that makes it OK.
  • Several scrapbook layouts finished and quite a bit of writing! (Yes, feeling productive is one of my favorites.)
  • I started a new book Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand by Helen Simonson

I can’t have all the fun.  Here’s some favorites I found in my blog reader.

I didn’t realize what a busy week it’s been until I listed it for you!  I hope you had a great week too.  Please share your favorites with a comment and feel free to include a link.

Book Theme Party Invitation

Remember how I was telling you I wasn’t very fond of the book Saint Maybe and I was going to tear pages out of it to make invitations to a book theme party? I thought you’d like to see how they turned out.

They were super easy to make. I punched a large flower and wrote “Party:” and then printed a definition on the blue paper, cut it out with a scallop blade.  After I glued those in place, I just printed the party info on matching blue paper and glued it inside the folded page.  I heard from those in the know (the party girl) that everyone thought they were super cute.

One thing I did spend a few minutes doing was to skim each page and make sure it was rated G! I don’t think I would be the only one embarrassed by something inappropriate!
