Easter Breakfast

Easter BreakfastWhat started off as our traditional Christmas morning breakfast has also become our traditional Easter morning breakfast. With all those hard-boiled eggs, this is the perfect way to actually use all those eggs the Easter Bunny hid. Just don’t try it with the plastic ones; the chocolate ones might not be the best either.

I love when the egg dye bleeds into the eggs and makes breakfast a little extra pretty.

Since the Easter Bunny visits us on Saturday morning, I assemble Sunday’s breakfast on Saturday night and bake it Sunday morning.

Friday Favorites: April 13

Last week’s Friday Favorites was short so we would have plenty of time to enjoy the…

  • Desert Botanical Garden. It was nice weather and the flowers were in bloom.  We captured so many great pictures!
  • Easter Saturday.  The Easter Bunny visits our house on Saturday so we can spend Sunday focusing on the spiritual side of Easter.  There was candy and eggs galore, plus our traditional breakfast of donuts while we read a really neat story.
  • Later in the day, we stopped by Hobby Town to watch some RC car racing.
  • Book Party invitations; I’m so happy with how they turned out
  • I finished Court Duel by Sherwood Smith. I liked it better than Crown Duel, the first book in the series. Actually, I couldn’t put it down and spent an hour finishing it this week.  I was a little rushed the rest of the day, but I still got everything done – so that makes it OK.
  • Several scrapbook layouts finished and quite a bit of writing! (Yes, feeling productive is one of my favorites.)
  • I started a new book Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand by Helen Simonson

I can’t have all the fun.  Here’s some favorites I found in my blog reader.

I didn’t realize what a busy week it’s been until I listed it for you!  I hope you had a great week too.  Please share your favorites with a comment and feel free to include a link.

Friday Favorites: April 6

Just a quick post today so we can work on some favorites for next week!

  • Easter Enlightenment – we have been reading scriptures from Jesus’ last week and stories that help us understand all that He does for us.
  • Writing Critique group was this week. I’m planning on sharing my thoughts with you next week.
  • Family Book Club – You guessed it, more to come soon on that too.

Just to make sure this isn’t a total teaser post, I’ll share a couple of interesting post I found today.

Please share your favorites of the day so I can catch up with them over the weekend!

Friday Favorites: March 16

Remember last week when I was talking about wanting to do something cute for St. Patrick’s Day?  As far as I got was pulling the small box of decorations out of the closet.  We haven’t even put them up.  If I get super ambitious (meaning if I make it to the grocery store), I’ll get a box of Lucky Charms for the kids to eat for breakfast tomorrow.  It’s a rare treat in my house, so that would make it special – right?  Even if we didn’t do anything green, I still have some favorites this week.

  • Flagstaff is so pretty!  I love the town’s atmosphere and all the pine trees.  There are so many things I want to explore in and around the town.
  • Pool.  While we were in Flagstaff, we had the chance to play a couple of games.  None of us were good, but it is still a fun game.
  • Taxes are done!  I definitely didn’t enjoy doing the taxes, but it’s my favorite thing to be done with!
  • A little bit of purging and organizing.  There’s a lot more to go, but I’ll take what I can get. Even if it’s only four inches on a shelf and a foot of floor space, and my favorite – shuffling stuff from one place to another.  Now I just need to stop bringing more stuff into my house.
  • Goodreads is my new favorite place to play.

I found some favorites blog posts too this week.

  • The SITS Girls have some creative ideas for self portraits.
  • Since I failed at St. Patrick’s Day, I’m ready to start preparing for Easter.  I {heart} Naptime has some great Easter crafts.
  • For all you Shannon Hale fans, check out her announcement about her latest project.
  • Hilary Weeks is on a quest to help us be more optimistic by launching a Billion Clicks.
  • I’m not usually this handy, but I love this rustic wall storage from Remodelaholic.

I could go on but I’d like to hear about your favorites of the week!
