Friday Favorites: November 9

Can you believe there are less than two weeks until Thanksgiving? I’m still trying to mentally prepare for Halloween! I guess I better buy a turkey before I blink and it’s December. Let’ see if I can get my brain around this week’s favorites.Nano favorites

  • I spent last weekend at Time Out for Women. What an amazing recharge! I think the laughing and crying (the good kind) were pretty well balanced.
  • The election is over! No more campaign ads!
  • Another great ANWA meeting.
  • I’ve been Nanoishing along, which means I’m writing regularly but not 2000 words a day. I don’t need to win, I’m just hoping to hit 10%.
  • I had a job interview that I thought went very well. I’ll know if the prospective employer agrees in the next couple of weeks.
  • A great Relief Society dinner. The food was good and the company was even better!

Time’s short these days, but I found a few favorites on some of my favorite blogs.

  • If Thanksgiving is close, that means Christmas is just a couple of days behind (at least it feels that way). Family Chic has a cute and easy Sweater Tree project that has me wondering if I have any sweaters I’m ready to recycle.
  • Now that the decorations are covered, I {Heart} Naptime has a cute jar gift idea.
  • To keep the ideas from being too Christmas heavy, Chef in Training has 30 soup, chili and chowder recipes.

Friday Favorites: June 15

The kids are out of school and the weather’s confirming that summer is in full swing with temperatures approaching 110! So how does a typical Arizona family have fun in the boiling heat? I don’t know about everyone else but here’s a few of our favorites of the week.

  • A trip to Flagstaff – we explored Sunset Crater, Lowell Observatory and the Riordan Mansion.
  • ANWA meeting – it’s always good to get my creativity and enthusiasm recharged.
  • Arizona Science Center – I was surprised there were already some changes since the last time we went, good ones of coarse.

So maybe we do more to escape the heat instead of having fun in it. Hanging out in the air conditioning, I found these online favorites.

So what are your summer favorites?

Friday Favorites: March 2

I missed sharing my favorites with you last week because I was knee deep in the amazing ANWA writing conference.  Not only did I learn so much, I also met some awesome women.  I came home just in time to help my kids with a couple of big projects due this week – those projects didn’t make this week’s favorites, although I enjoyed seeing the end results.  Here’s what did make the list:

  • Did I mention ANWA?  It was really cool, you should go next year!
  • The Blue and Gold Banquet had a couple of hiccups, but we rolled with the punches and it turned out well.  My favorite part was the Nutella cupcake I savored after I was done being silly in front of the Cub Scouts and their families.

Even though my week was crazy, I still had time to find new favorite posts!
