Friday Favorites: July 20

Where did July go? Wasn’t the Forth of July just a couple of days ago? I don’t how 10 days went by without a post. In my defense, we had a family vacation and recovering from the vacation. At least I have lots of favorites to share.

  • Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum – When we went to the Lowell Observatory, we bought a year pass that worked at several other museums. This was a good deal with the two places we’ve been in Arizona, and the three places we went to in Utah, it was an amazing deal!
  • Clark Planetarium – They have a free exhibit and an IMAX theater.
  • Thanksgiving Point – There are four exhibits in one. My favorite was the garden. We were very entertained feeding the Koi fish.
  • A family picnic
  • evo ’12 – Once again I learned a ton and hung out with awesome people! Be sure to read my evo post at Arizona Mama.
  • A new clothes washer. It was hard to catch up on the laundry from our trip – especially when the washer died mid load! I’m happy to report that we are all wearing clean clothes again!

I also been finding some favorites online too!

Keep me in the loop! What are your favorites this fine Friday?

Friday Favorites: March 16

Remember last week when I was talking about wanting to do something cute for St. Patrick’s Day?  As far as I got was pulling the small box of decorations out of the closet.  We haven’t even put them up.  If I get super ambitious (meaning if I make it to the grocery store), I’ll get a box of Lucky Charms for the kids to eat for breakfast tomorrow.  It’s a rare treat in my house, so that would make it special – right?  Even if we didn’t do anything green, I still have some favorites this week.

  • Flagstaff is so pretty!  I love the town’s atmosphere and all the pine trees.  There are so many things I want to explore in and around the town.
  • Pool.  While we were in Flagstaff, we had the chance to play a couple of games.  None of us were good, but it is still a fun game.
  • Taxes are done!  I definitely didn’t enjoy doing the taxes, but it’s my favorite thing to be done with!
  • A little bit of purging and organizing.  There’s a lot more to go, but I’ll take what I can get. Even if it’s only four inches on a shelf and a foot of floor space, and my favorite – shuffling stuff from one place to another.  Now I just need to stop bringing more stuff into my house.
  • Goodreads is my new favorite place to play.

I found some favorites blog posts too this week.

  • The SITS Girls have some creative ideas for self portraits.
  • Since I failed at St. Patrick’s Day, I’m ready to start preparing for Easter.  I {heart} Naptime has some great Easter crafts.
  • For all you Shannon Hale fans, check out her announcement about her latest project.
  • Hilary Weeks is on a quest to help us be more optimistic by launching a Billion Clicks.
  • I’m not usually this handy, but I love this rustic wall storage from Remodelaholic.

I could go on but I’d like to hear about your favorites of the week!

Friday Favorites: March 9

Here in the Valley of the Sun, spring has sprung!  We get a taste of the nice weather for a few days before a storm moves in and cools us off.  I’m OK with that because the warm weather will quickly fade to hot weather all too soon.  I’ll share this week’s favorites, and then I’m going back outside!

  • Cub Scout Day Camp!  I love seeing that many Cub Scouts in one place, wearing their uniform and excited to have fun learning and doing what they do best.
  • Speaking of Cub Scouts, we had a very productive Committee Meeting planning our Pinewood Derby.
  • Our Relief Society celebrated its birthday with a dinner, a game and a craft.

Here’s my favorites from around the web.

  • Monzanita is starting a new family tradition.
  • My Insanity shares a cute way to decorate cans for your organization needs.
  • What Friday Favorites would be complete without a recipe – like Bakers Royale Snickers Cake.
  • Or if you want to ditch the sweets, Your Homebased Mom has some yummy bread sticks.

I’d like to do something fun for St. Patrick’s Day, but I don’t even have my decorations up.  I’m not sure it’s even worth putting them up for a week, but we don’t have very many so we’ll see.  If you have any simple ideas for older kids – please share!  Feel free to share any other favorites too.
